Curriculum Overview

The Carver Academy's integrated curriculum provides an accelerated learning experience utilizing various inquiry techniques. Students explore information daily in great depth via projects and field trips using a skill mastery approach. This approach creates a dynamic learning experience that allows students to solve open-ended problems by inventing solutions.
Students are continuously exposed to innovative teaching practices in a technologically advanced environment, which opens a wide variety of channels that meet numerous learning styles. Personal laptops and handheld computers assist students in maintaining schedules, obtaining tutoring help, conducting research and more. SMART Board interactive whiteboards in each classroom, keyed to textbooks and curricular guides, provide ways to interact with digital content and multimedia while raising the level of student engagement.
The Weatherbug Achieve Program integrates live, local weather data and technology into classroom learning. The STARLAB Portable Planetarium challenges students to explore the complex science of astronomy, which encompasses history, literature, mathematics and languages.
