 TCA's First Mock Election

We have all heard the saying, "Every vote counts," and how true it was for TCA's first Mock Election.  The Red Dog Party and the Blue Bluejay Party worked extremely hard to earn the votes of fellow TCA students.  TCA candidates and their parties (all 6th grade students) campaigned, wrote and delivered speeches, participated in conventions, and debated, in hopes of being elected President and Vice President of The Carver Academy.  The student body visited the Polling Place located in TCA's George Washington Carver Museum on Monday, November 3 to electronically cast their votes.  After much anticipation, the results were announced during TCA's Inauguration Day on Tuesday, November 4.  To the amazement of students, parents and faculty, each party received exactly 57 votes!  Therefore, both presidential and vice presidential candidates were sworn into office in front of a large crowd on Tuesday morning. Immediately following the ceremony, students, parents and staff were invited to a pancake breakfast to celebrate the success of TCA's first Mock Election.

We would like to thank all of the candidates, party members, and the entire 6th grade class, for doing an outstanding job teaching TCA students about the election process.  You are all leaders in our school community and excel in demonstrating the six pillars and we are so proud of each and every one of you!
